TED-Ed: What is the World Wide Web.

Believe me, I know better than to pretend to lecture to the sorts of folks who can find an obscure website like this about what the Internet is. Most of you folks could provide teach a course on it.

However, this animation from TED-Ed is still informative for lots of people. The graphics are clear and direct.

The bottom line: the world wide web is not the Internet. The worldwide web is how we use the Internet - it is not the Internet.

And everyone reading this should know who Tim Berners-Lee. If not - watch the video.

From the Youtube page:
The World Wide Web is used every day by millions of people for everything from checking the weather to sharing cat videos. But what is it exactly? Twila Camp describes this interconnected information system as a virtual city that everyone owns and explains how it's organized in a way that mimics our brain's natural way of thinking.
