Palestinian Conflict Down Through the Ages

Palestinian Conflict Down Through the Ages.

This Land Is Mine from Nina Paley on Vimeo.

10,000 years of Palestinian history, all set to the soothing tones of Andy Williams. What more could you ask from a history lesson?

I'm sure this will offend everyone who is absolutely 100% for sure certain that only their people deserve that lousy piece of desert and their own people are completely blameless and that showing them killing anyone else is a falsehood beyond infamy. Which is just about everyone who has ever set foot in that area, flown over it in an airplane, read about it, or seen it on a globe.

In fact, I know this animation offends some people. This is the most sensitive topic in the world for some folks, more so than sex and religion or politics. But our purpose is not to offend, but simply to show inventive use of animation, with no political agenda implied. If you see an agenda in the video, where everyone is killing everyone else, feel free to share.

And besides, it's just a pretty Pat Boone song.

Anyway, this is a cute animation from Nina Paley, worth a few minutes of your time if you have them to spare. Oh, and there's nothing political about it unless you want there to be - which is just about everyone who has been there, or flown over it in...

If you like the video, you should pay a visit to Nina's page on this, which fleshes things out a bit more.
