The Wiivengers - A Marvel / Nintendo-Verse Mashup (Parody)

The Wiivengers - A Marvel / Nintendo-Verse Mashup (Parody).

James Farr made this parody about "The Wiivengers," which is a mashup of Marvel characters with the Nintendo video game world.

Ever wonder what the Nintendo gaming sphere would be like if some of your favorite Marvel characters inhabited it?

Well, neither have I. But here we get a chance to see!

Accordingly, Nintendo characters are shown as The Avengers. Mario is Iron Man, Pikachu is Thor, Luigi turns into the Hulk, Link as Captain America, we have Peach as Black Widow, and so on.

The only thing keeping something like this from actually becoming a video game is the licensing fees. Marvel products are big business, with Disney and other large corporations cornering the market in the film arena. Those rights probably encompass video game use of the characters. So if you want to blame anyone, blame all the people buying tickets to see these characters in the movie theaters. Nintendo would have to pay an arm and a leg for the rights to compete with that.

Anyway, it's all quite cute and food for thought for game developers.

From the youtube page:

Nintendo's mightiest heroes must assemble to defeat the galaxy's puniest god, and recapture the legendary power of ... the NESeract!
