John Lennon and Yoko Ono. |
An animated portrayal of an interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
Excerpts from interviews conducted by Howard Smith in 1969-1971 with John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono, animated by Blank on Blank for PBS Digital Studios.
This was a time when Lennon was acting like quite the renegade. In these segments, though, he sounds quite down-to-earth and ordinary.
The animation is fun, and of course the soundtrack is wonderful. Lennon gives all sorts of introspective thoughts about love and togetherness and what it all means. He also offers off-handed pithy observations about television and movies.
Any creative types out there will recognize the clarity of Lennon stating, "As Paul Kraston said, all I ask in life is a water bed, a tv and a typewriter, but I just have an ordinary bed, a tv and a guitar, apart from Yoko."
From the youtube page:
"It's all true, folks: all you need is love."
