"Sugar: Hiding in plain sight" from TED-Ed

Sugar is everywhere.

"Sugar hiding in plain site." Do you want to learn a little bit about sugar, which you eat every single day of your life?

You may or may not want to learn about it right now. But someday, if you develop health problems or are just a curious soul, you probably will. This animation is an easy and painless way to learn.

"Sugar: Hiding in Plain Sight" is purely educational. We are not making any bones about that. This animation has a purpose, and either you are interested in learning about the subject or you are not. Animation as an education.

Robert Lustig is a pediatrics professor who knows a lot about sugar. The lesson is by Robert Lustig, the animation by The Tremendousness Collective. We see that sugar is everywhere, and you can't necessarily rely on ingredient labels to know what you are eating.

Bottom line: everything in moderation. At least try to understand how much sugar you eat.

As for Ted-Ed, they can explain their mission better than we can:
"TED-Ed’s commitment to creating lessons worth sharing is an extension of TED’s mission of spreading great ideas. Within TED-Ed’s growing library of lessons, you will find carefully curated educational videos, many of which represent collaborations between talented educators and animators nominated through the TED-Ed platform. This platform also allows users to take any useful educational video, not just TED's, and easily create a customized lesson around the video. Users can then distribute TED-Ed lessons, publicly or privately, and track their impact on the world, a class, or an individual student. This platform is also the home to TED-Ed Clubs -- an exciting new program that aims to stimulate and celebrate the best ideas of students around the world."
It is worthwhile poking about on the Ted-Ed website if you want to learn more about the world in which you live.
